About

Lisa Doggett, M.D., MPH, FAAFP, DipABLM, is a board-certified family and lifestyle medicine specialist in UT Health Austin’s Multiple Sclerosis and Neuroimmunology Center. She provides lifestyle and preventive care consultations to people with multiple sclerosis.

Doggett earned her medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine and her master’s in health promotion and health education from UT Health Houston School of Public Health. She completed a residency in family medicine at the University of Cincinnati. She also completed the Vaccine Science Fellowship with the American Academy of Family Physicians and trained to become board-certified in lifestyle medicine.

Doggett was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2009. She is passionate about improving care for vulnerable populations and helping people with MS and other chronic conditions live their best lives. She dedicated 13 years to working in Austin’s community clinics before serving as senior medical director at Sagility, a role she still holds part-time. She is a co-founder of Texas Physicians for Social Responsibility, a trustee on the South Central Board of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and a columnist for the national news outlet Public Health Watch. Her award-winning memoir, “Up the Down Escalator: Medicine, Motherhood, and Multiple Sclerosis,” was published in 2023 and chronicles her journey with MS while directing a clinic for people without insurance.

Outside of work, Doggett enjoys running at Lady Bird Lake, biking, swimming, gardening and traveling with her family.
