About
Lisa Doggett, M.D., MPH, is an Austin native and a board-certified family physician who has dedicated her career to caring for communities that are medically underserved. She started her work in 2002 as a family doctor at People’s Community Clinic. She went on to serve as medical director of the UT Family Wellness Center (affiliated with CommUnityCare Health Centers during her tenure) and then at El Buen Samaritano’s Wallace Mallory Clinic. She taught nurse practitioner students for seven years at UT Austin, co-founded the Austin (now Texas) chapter of Physicians for Social Responsibility and continues to volunteer as a supervising physician at the student-run C.D. Doyle Clinic, which serves people experiencing homelessness, in downtown Austin.
In her current role as senior medical director for HGS Population Health Management Solutions/AxisPoint Health, Doggett has worked at the state and national levels, providing clinical oversight to care management programs spanning California, Mississippi and Puerto Rico. In Texas, she has supported high-risk Medicaid patients through HGS/AxisPoint Health’s Texas Medicaid Wellness Program, and she oversaw implementation of a comprehensive care management program for adults with severe disabilities in collaboration with Texas Health and Human Services.
