About

Lena Dixit, M.D., earned a Bachelor of Science in biomedical engineering at The University of Texas at Austin and graduated summa cum laude with high honors. She was nominated for the Outstanding Scholar Award by the College of Engineering. She earned her medical degree and certification in medical ethics at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, graduating with honors. Following an internship at Brackenridge Hospital in Austin, she completed her residency in ophthalmology at Baylor College of Medicine.

Dixit completed additional subspecialty training at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, with a fellowship in cornea, external disease, cataract and refractive surgery. She specializes in cataract and intraocular lens surgery, laser-assisted cataract surgery, corneal transplant surgery, ocular surface disease and reconstruction, dry eye, ocular surface tumors and laser vision correction (LASIK/PRK).

Dixit is associate medical director for the Lone Star Lions Eye Bank. She is board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, and she is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the Cornea Society. She is also a legislative advocate for patients and physicians.

She enjoys spending time with family and friends and playing the violin in addition to soccer, swimming and outdoor activities.
