About

Kaveesh Kutty, M.D., is a practicing emergency physician who serves as the medical director of the emergency department at the Dell Seton Medical Center at The University of Texas. He began his career in the greater Austin area working at various community hospitals within the Ascension Seton system in 2022, serving as the medical director of the Ascension Seton Edgar B. Davis Emergency Department during that time. In January 2024, he began working clinically and teaching emergency medicine in the Dell Seton emergency department.

Kutty was born in India, then raised in New Jersey from the age of 6 by way of a brief stint in Barbados. He subsequently obtained undergraduate and professional degrees at Drexel University in Philadelphia through the accelerated combined B.S./M.D. program. He then went on to train at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine residency program in emergency medicine, where he served as chief resident while also completing Focused Advanced Specialized Training (F.A.S.T. program) in emergency department leadership and operations during his fourth year of residency.

Kutty’s academic interests include emergency department operations, process improvement, and quality and safety.
