Johnna Jones, Ph.D.

About

Johnna Jones, Ph.D., is a licensed clinical psychologist who earned her doctoral degree from The University of Texas at Austin. Following her doctoral education, she completed a fellowship in behavioral medicine at Dell Children’s Medical Center and received certification in primary care behavioral health through the University of Massachusetts Medical School’s Center for Integrated Primary Care.

Jones has been in the mental health field for over 25 years and treats adolescents and adults using evidence-based modalities. She has effectively treated patients with acute and complex trauma, anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder, depression (unipolar, bipolar, post-partum), addiction, co-dependency, personality disorders, divorce/relationship/parenting stressors, chronic pain and ADHD using a variety of therapeutic interventions, including cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and ketamine assisted psychotherapy.

In addition to her clinical work, she teaches abnormal psychology and chemical dependency issues as an adjunct professor and is involved in multiple mental health initiatives. Her research has focused on parental factors correlated with child mental health disorders and, more recently, the use of psychedelic medicine for treatment resistant conditions.

Jones is based in Austin, Texas, and is the mother of four grown children.
