Jeffrey Horwitz, M.D., MPH

About

Jeffrey Horwitz is a affiliate faculty for the Departments of Pediatrics and Surgery and Perioperative Care. He was born and raised in Houston. He earned his undergraduate and master’s degrees from The University of Texas. He received his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. He completed a general surgical residency at the Medical College of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.

Horwitz returned to Houston for a fellowship in surgical critical care and ECMO at the University of Texas Medical School. He then moved to New Haven, Connecticut, where he completed a fellowship in pediatric surgery at Yale University. He is board certified in pediatric surgery, general surgery and surgical critical care.

Horwitz’s interests include correction of congenital anomalies and the use of minimally invasive surgery. He is a member of the American Pediatric Surgical Association, the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American College of Surgeons, the International Pediatric Endosurgery Group, the Texas Medical Association and the Travis County Medical Society.
