About

Heather King is a affiliate faculty for the Department of Surgery and Perioperative Care. She specializes in breast and oncoplastic surgery, treating the spectrum of benign to malignant breast disease. After completing general surgery residency at Louisiana State University, she completed a breast surgical oncology fellowship at the University of Miami and then joined the faculty as an associate professor. Seeking further training in oncoplasty, she completed four months of additional training at L’Institut du Sein in Paris. She then joined the multidisciplinary team at Texas Oncology as the first fellowship-trained breast surgeon in the Austin area.

Professional interests include high-risk patients, high-risk genetics, oncoplastic lumpectomies and nipple-sparing mastectomies. Personal interests include visual arts, cinema, reading, exercising, hiking and her dogs.
