Gregory Scott Brown, M.D., is an affiliate faculty member in the Department of Psychiatry at Dell Medical School. He is a practicing integrative psychiatrist and founder and director of the Center for Green Psychiatry, an Austin-based wellness advocacy platform and group of outpatient clinics.
Brown’s clinical work focuses on treating mood and anxiety disorders from an evidence-based holistic standpoint, combining pharmaceutical treatments with nutrition, lifestyle modifications and utilizing a mind-body approach. He has a particular interest in men’s health and wellness and routinely writes and speaks about this topic. Brown has published extensively in academic journals and the popular press. His work has been highlighted in Psychology Today, Medscape, Austin Fit Magazine, Current Psychiatry and Men’s Health magazine. Brown has also participated as a featured panelist at SXSW.
Additionally, Brown enjoys teaching and mentoring residents and medical students. He was awarded the distinguished resident educator of the year award by students of the University of Texas Medical Branch.
Brown has fellowship training in integrative medicine from the Academy of Integrative Health and Medicine, completed residency training in adult psychiatry at Dell Medical School and received a doctor of medicine from the McGovern Medical School in Houston. He also completed a post-baccalaureate premedical program at John Hopkins University and graduated cum laude from Rice University.
