Farhan Irshad, M.D., FACS

Farhan Irshad, M.D., FACS, is an affiliate faculty member in the Department of Ophthalmology. He is also the medical director at Eye Clinic of Austin.

Board-certified by the American Academy of Ophthalmology and fellowship-trained in cornea and refractive surgery, Irshad recently practiced in Louisiana as director of cornea and refractive laser surgery and continues to serve as an associate clinical professor of ophthalmology at Tulane Medical Center in addition being affiliate faculty at Dell Medical School. He also serves on the medical advisory board at Southern Eye Bank.

Irshad specializes in laser cataract and lens-exchange surgery, LASIK refractive surgery, micro-invasive glaucoma surgery and corneal and glaucoma pathology in both adults and children. His research interests include partial thickness and artificial corneal transplantation.
