Eric Leong, M.D.

About

Eric Leong, M.D., is an affiliate faculty member in the Department of Population Health.

Leong was born and raised in Tawau, Sabah, Malaysia, a little town on the island of Borneo. He received his undergraduate degree from The University of Toronto and his medical training at The University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio. He practiced internal medicine as a hospitalist for 20 years in Austin, Texas. After that, he has been in primary care practice with Austin Regional Clinic.

He enjoys running, skiing and inline skating. On days off, he likes to eat out with his wife and sons. In addition to patient care, he has a passion for teaching.

He likes to tell his patients it’s never too late to exercise and to learn something new in life.
