About

David Laverty, M.D., is a fellowship-trained, board-certified surgeon specializing in orthopaedic trauma. As a trauma surgeon, Laverty takes care of a range of orthopaedic injuries, including fractures, sprains and strains.

In addition to his orthopaedic surgery practice in Austin, Laverty teaches medical students and residents. He also serves as chief orthopeadic surgeon for Circuit of the Americas, Austin’s home to annual Formula One and Motor Grand Prix events as well as X Games Austin. Laverty is also an active member of the teaching faculty of Dell Medical School’s Orthopaedic Surgery Residency, where he works to advance the field of musculoskeletal care and training the next generation of physicians and surgeons.

Laverty was awarded Physician of the Year in 2007 at University Medical Center Brackenridge. Most recently, Laverty was recognized locally by his peers in 2021 through 2023 as an Austin Monthly Top Doctor.
