Director of Development, Mulva Clinic for the Neurosciences, Development
Carolyn Miles serves as the director of development for the Mulva Clinic for the Neurosciences at Dell Medical School. The vision for this clinic is as ambitious as it is critical: to build the premier brain health institute of the Southwest, a world-class center for the treatment and study of neurological diseases. She works to raise $100 million to support this vision.
Miles previously served as the director of development for the LIVESTRONG Cancer Institutes at Dell Medical School. Prior to joining Dell Medical School, Miles served as the head of development at the LBJ School of Public Affairs for nearly five years. She has also worked at the McCombs School of Business, where she oversaw the corporate and foundation relations team. Before coming to UT Austin, Miles developed market research for the company Public Strategies that measured the public perceptions of Fortune 500 companies. In her early career after graduate school, Miles worked as an energy consultant for the former Soviet Union at Cambridge Energy Research Associates.
Miles holds a master’s degree in international affairs from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Arts degree with a certificate in Russian and East European studies from Indiana University at Bloomington. She is currently working on her master’s in social work at the Steve Hicks School of Social Work at UT Austin.
Outside of work, Miles enjoys spending time with her elementary school-age son, jogging on the trail around Lady Bird Lake, meditating and exploring the outdoors.
