About
Carlos Brown, M.D., FACS, was born in Washington, D.C., but proud to have been raised a Texan, growing up in Austin, Texas, and graduating from Westlake High School in 1985. Brown completed his undergraduate studies at The University of Texas at Austin and subsequently graduated medical school from The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. After accepting a naval health professions scholarship, Brown went on to complete his surgical internship and general surgery residency at the Naval Medical Center San Diego.
Following one year as a practicing general surgeon in San Diego, Brown completed his trauma and surgical critical care fellowships at the Los Angeles County+University of Southern California Medical Center. In 2007, Brown was recruited back to his hometown of Austin, Texas, where he serves in his current position.
