About
J. Brannan Smoot, M.D., is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon with a subspecialty certification in sports medicine. Smoot received a Bachelor of Arts in human performance and health sciences from Rice University in Houston. He graduated from The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas and completed an internship and residency at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in Oklahoma City. Smoot also completed a knee fellowship and a foot-and-ankle fellowship in Sydney, Australia.
Along with his busy practice, he helps lead Dell Medical School’s Division of Orthopaedic Surgery and is an active member of the teaching faculty in the school’s Orthopaedic Surgery Residency. He is also one of Texas Orthopedic’s sports medicine providers who helps cover the Texas Stars hockey games.
