About
A longtime Longhorn, Blair Walker received her Bachelor of Arts in the Plan II Honors Program from The University of Texas at Austin, followed by her medical degree from The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. Walker is the psychiatry consultation-liaison service line lead for Ascension Seton hospitals and chief of psychiatry at Dell Seton Medical Center in Austin, specializing in the psychiatric care of medically ill patients with additional expertise in substance use disorders. Walker is board-certified in psychiatry, consultation-liaison psychiatry and addiction medicine.
In 2018, Walker co-founded and remains clinical lead for the “B-Team” (Buprenorphine Team) — a program with the goal of reducing stigma associated with caring for patients with opioid use disorder while helping those patients get opioid use disorder treatment while medically admitted with bridge to outpatient care. The B-Team is now an ongoing endeavor across Texas and the region with Dell Medical School SHOUT (Support Hospital Opioid Use Disorder Treatment) and is nationally supported in Ascension hospitals.
