Racism contributes to health inequity. As the associate dean for health equity at Dell Med, I recommend these resources for anyone interested in learning more about racism and its effects:
- “How To Be an Antiracist,” a book by Ibram X. Kendi, Ph.D.
- “White Privilege: Unpacking the Invisible Knapsack,” an essay by Peggy McIntosh, Ph.D.
- “White Fragility,” Robin DiAngelo, Ph.D. The New York Times recently published an article on DiAngelo and anti-racism training.
- “I Am Not Your Negro,” a documentary based on James Baldwin’s unfinished manuscript, “Remember This House.”
