About

Zachary Chipman, M.D., is director of the Division of Obstetrics and Gynecology and an assistant professor in the Department of Women’s Health.

Chipman came to Dell Medical School from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, where he was assistant professor of obstetrics and gynecology. He completed medical school at the University of Texas Health Science Center and completed his obstetrics and gynecology residency at St. Joseph’s Medical Center.

Chipman was the recipient of the American College of OB-GYN mentor award along with the National Council on Resident Education OB-GYN teaching award. He is a mentor to residents and fellows and serves as a member of the Clinical Competency Committee. His special interests include gynecological surgeries including laparoscopic and vaginal surgery, developing surgical pathways for pregnancies with abnormal placentation (accreta, placenta previa, etc.) and clinical instruction of residents and medical students.

Chipman lives in Austin with his wife and has two children in college.
