About

Lizette Taboada, RD, LD, is a registered dietitian in both UT Health Austin’s Women’s Health and Musculoskeletal Institute. She also serves as the nutrition and behavior change lead for UT Health Austin’s Integrated Behavioral Health care team. She specializes in evidence-based nutrition education and dietary counseling focused on weight management, gastrointestinal issues, diabetes and PCOS.

Taboada earned her bachelor’s degree in nutrition from The University of Texas at Austin, where she completed a dietetic internship through the Coordinated Program in Dietetics.

Taboada has 18 years of experience working with multidisciplinary teams and in the community as a clinical dietitian. Her previous roles included Dell Children’s Medical Center’s childhood obesity program, the early childhood intervention program, and the women, infants, and children program. When counseling patients, she combines a patient-centered approach and motivational interviewing techniques to empower patients to achieve healthy lifestyle changes. Her main goal is to support patients by creating healthy eating habits as they strive for a better quality of life.
