John Shore, M.D.

John Shore, M.D., is an affiliate faculty member in the Department of Ophthalmology.

Shore has brought his clinical and surgical expertise of nearly four decades to his position at Dell Medical School. He has been heavily involved in resident and fellow education, research, administration and leadership in national professional organizations.

He has had noteworthy leadership roles: chairman and residency program director for the Department of Ophthalmology at Lackland Air Force Base Wilford Hall Medical Facility in San Antonio, Texas; ophthalmology consultant to the U.S. Air Force surgeon general; chair of the board of directors of the Ophthalmic Mutual Insurance Company; director of the eye plastics and orbit service at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary at Harvard Medical School; president of the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery; president of the Massachusetts Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons; and president of the Society of Air Force Clinical Surgeons.

Shore also co-founded and was the managing and senior partner of TOC Eye and Face, a private-practice group of six surgeons and two fellows who provide subspecialty oculofacial plastic and reconstructive surgery service in Central Texas.
