Elizabeth Polinard

About

Elizabeth Polinard, Ph.D., RN, is an affiliate faculty member in the Department of Women’s Health.

Polinard is also the clinical professional development consultant for perinatal and neonatal services for Ascension Seton. In this role, she creates and implements clinical education for both new and experienced nurses as well as other health care providers. Polinard works closely with Dell Med women’s health providers to develop and support interprofessional simulations and other interprofessional educational initiatives, community outreach education and research related to interprofessional education.

Polinard is the co-founder and co-chair of the Ascension Texas Council on Racial and Health Equity, an organization committed to addressing race-based health disparities with a focus on maternal mortality and morbidity. Additionally, she is the co-developer of the Moai Nurse Mentorship Program, a unique multidisciplinary nurse mentorship program.

Polinard received her doctorate in nursing from The University of Texas at Austin. Her research experience and interests include the work of ATCORHE, interdisciplinary nurse mentorship programs, the promotion of positive interdisciplinary relationships within the hospital setting and the experience of new nurses
